As part of Carden Academy’s commitment to educating the whole child, the Health and Wellness program addresses the emotional, cognitive, behavioral, and social needs of each student. It assumes a positive psychology approach and utilizes social/communication skill-building interventions. It is solution-focused, rather than problem-focused. It is strength-based, rather than deficit-based. Our collaborative, relational, and systemic approach includes communications between counselor, parent, teacher, and student in seeking the most positive outcomes possible. Carden’s emphasis on Character Development is integrated in all interventions and strategies whenever possible.
Carden’s Health and Wellness Counselor is Michelle Davenport. Michelle is a Clinical Member of both the American Association for Marriage & Family Therapy(AAMFT) and the American Group Psychotherapy Association (AGPA), two organizations that focus on systemic and relational psychology.
