Spanish is an enrichment subject at Carden Academy for the Middle School curriculum.
There are 22 Spanish speaking countries in the world! Of the 7.8 billion people in the world, around 5% speak Spanish. There are more than 450 million native speakers of Spanish, making it second only to Chinese in terms of the most spoken languages in the world.
If you want a language that will open up whole continents to you, Spanish is your best bet. It’s also the primary language of most of South and Central America, Spain, and is widely spoken the US

Senora Galetto

Growing up on Maui, in an English speaking household, Senora Galetto had very minimal exposure to foreign language until her first Spanish class in middle school. She was hooked ever since! Becoming fluent while studying abroad at the University of Granada in Spain, Senora Galetto continued on to receive a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish through the University of Hawaii in 2006. Presently she speaks Spanish everyday at home, and finds it immensely satisfying to watch her bilingual children grow up so confident in both languages! Senora Galetto finds it an honor and privilege to come full circle and share her love of Spanish by teaching a new generation of Carden Middle schoolers.
