Full-Time STEM Teacher and IT Support Specialist

Job Description: As a Full-Time STEM Teacher and IT Support Specialist at Carden Academy of Maui, you will have the unique opportunity to inspire students through engaging STEM education while also ensuring the seamless operation of our IT support. This role combines teaching responsibilities with technical support duties, offering a dynamic and rewarding experience for individuals passionate about both education and technology.

Responsibilities:
· Develop and implement dynamic STEM curriculum and lesson plans that stimulate curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills among students.
Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel empowered to explore STEM concepts and pursue their interests.
Utilize innovative teaching methods, educational technology tools, and hands-on activities to enhance student learning experiences.
Provide technical support to students, faculty, and staff on IT-related issues, including troubleshooting hardware and software problems, network connectivity, and classroom technology.
Maintain and update IT systems, equipment, and software to ensure optimal performance, security, and usability.
Collaborate with colleagues to integrate technology seamlessly into STEM curriculum and instructional practices.
Stay informed about current trends and developments in STEM education and IT support to continuously improve teaching methods and technical skills.

Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education, a STEM-related discipline, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Teaching certification or relevant teaching experience in STEM education is preferred.
Strong proficiency in IT support and troubleshooting, including hardware, software, networking, and educational technology tools.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced educational environment.
Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive.
Experience with educational technology platforms and tools is required (Microsoft Office365, Google Workspace, Apple School Manager, Adobe, FACTS SIS, etc.)

PART-TIME MIDDLE SCHOOL SPANISH TEACHER FOR SY 2024-25

Carden Academy of Maui is an independent private school in Pukalani, Maui, serving Pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade students. We seek a part-time middle school Spanish teacher for the 2024 – 25 school year who will plan, prepare, and teach Spanish for grades 6, 7, and 8 two days a week.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Create lesson plans reflecting all four language skills
Incorporate cultural connections
Spark a love of learning another language
Utilize technology as appropriate
Write grade reports
Communicate clearly with students and parents
Provide effective classroom management

Applicant Requirements:
College degree
Minimum of 2 years teaching experience (ideal)
Competency in the Spanish language, both written and oral
Must love teaching early adolescents

HAWAIIANA/HAWAIIAN STUDIES TEACHER – PART TIME

Carden Academy of Maui, an independent private school catering to Pre-Kindergarten through 8th-grade students in Pukalani, Maui, is in search of a Part-time Hawaiiana Teacher for the 2023-24 school year, beginning in January 2024.

The primary responsibilities for this role involve teaching a weekly class to students ranging from Pre-K to 8th grade. The objective is to develop and implement a curriculum that exhibits a seamless progression from grade to grade, with a strong emphasis on Hawaiian knowledge and culture through hands-on learning experiences. A Hō’ike event is scheduled for May, providing students with the opportunity to showcase their acquired knowledge to the community.
The ideal candidate will possess a genuine passion for Hawaiian culture, encompassing language, history, arts, literature, and/or science, and will draw upon their enthusiasm and experiences in these areas.
